FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi scored all five of Argentina's goals in a resounding 5-0 friendly victory over Estonia on Sunday in Pamplona, Spain. The win extended Argentina's unbeaten streak to 33 matches.
Messi's Five-Goal Haul
Messi opened the scoring in the 8th minute, pouncing on a rebound to slot home. He added another in the 45th minute with a clinical finish from just inside the box. After the break, Messi completed his hat-trick in the 47th minute with a brilliant individual effort, dribbling past several Estonian defenders before firing into the net.
The Argentine maestro continued his goal-scoring spree in the 71st minute, converting a penalty after being fouled in the area. Messi sealed his historic five-goal performance in the 76th minute with a powerful long-range strike.
Historic Night for Messi
It was the first time Messi had scored five goals for Argentina, and only the second time in his illustrious career overall. The other occasion came in a 7-1 friendly win over Bayer Leverkusen in 2012 while playing for FC Barcelona.
