Sou Fujimoto Architecture Style

Architect Sou Fujimoto Discusses 7 of His Favorite Projects At New York's Japan Society

Renowned for his highly conceptual contributions to the world of architecture, Sou Fujimoto has developed a signature style that combines architecture with nature.

After establishing Sou Fujimoto Architects in 2000, Fujimoto went on to design buildings across Japan and Europe. Many of his designs are built with natural materials and incorporate elements of the natural world.

One of Fujimoto's most famous projects is the Serpentine Pavilion, which he designed for the Serpentine Gallery in London in 2013. The pavilion was made of a lightweight steel frame covered with a translucent fabric. The fabric allowed light to filter through the pavilion, creating a beautiful and ethereal space.

Another one of Fujimoto's notable projects is the House NA, which he designed in 2011. The house is located in a dense urban area, but it feels like a secluded retreat. The house is made of concrete and glass, and it features a series of courtyards that bring the outside in.

Fujimoto's work has been praised for its beauty, its originality, and its sensitivity to the natural world. He is one of the most influential architects working today, and his work is sure to continue to inspire for years to come.
